To achieve a high-earning day, certain elements must align. First and foremost, you must show up. Next, ensuring you’re in a positive mindset and physically energized is vital. Lastly, knowing what tasks to prioritize and their sequence is essential.
Maintaining a streamlined routine is crucial—fast-paced and intentional.
Today, I'm going to share how I structure my mornings to excel in freelancing and maximize my earnings. This guide is particularly beneficial for entrepreneurs, remote workers, and small business owners. However, even if your goal is simply to enhance your mornings, these tips will serve you well.
Let’s dive in!
Section 1.1: Rise and Shine
To kick off a productive day, I find it beneficial to rise earlier. Even a mere 30 minutes can make a difference. Interestingly, I don’t rely on an alarm clock; my body instinctively wakes up earlier when I have heavy workloads or approaching deadlines. After two years of freelancing, I’ve learned to respond to my deadlines. It’s quite fascinating!
For those significant income days, a great morning routine is key. Do I have any extraordinary rituals? Nothing too outlandish, but it certainly works for me.
Once I’m in motion, as Sia puts it, I become unstoppable.
Subsection 1.1.1: Move Your Body
The first three things I do each morning are:
- Use the restroom (let’s be honest, that’s priority number one).
- Attend to basic hygiene and get dressed.
- Take my CBD oil—this is a close second in importance!
Then, it’s time to GET MOVING.
Physical activity is crucial for warming up your muscles, shaking off the stiffness from sleep, and fully awakening your body.
For me, spending a few minutes outside is essential for a successful day. What about you?
No, I don’t hit the gym before working—don’t mistake me for a superhuman. I’m just a proud dog owner, which helps!
The dog needs a walk, so why not make a habit of it?
I aim for around 20 minutes of soaking in the morning sun, observing the sky for birds, and checking the weather. Yes, I multitask by organizing my to-do list and talking to myself as I stroll.
People often think I’m chatting with my dog. However, I’m actually giving myself an encouraging pep talk! I outline my financial goals for the day and set my priorities. Yes, I also use mantras!
The goal is to get both your body and mind MOVING. And don’t hesitate to talk to yourself, even if it feels silly. Believe me, it WORKS.
Section 1.2: The Morning Playlist
Since I work from home, there’s no strict timeline for starting my tasks, but I generally begin around mid-morning, around 9 AM.
Once I return from my morning walk, I activate two essentials:
- The coffee (I only drink one cup in the morning; the rest of the day is water for me. I prefer natural energy over caffeine).

- Make you feel invincible (Sia’s "Unstoppable" is a must!).
- Help you release any negativity (Destiny’s Child’s "Survivor" is perfect for that!).
Keep your morning playlist concise; its purpose is to energize your day!
Section 1.3: Fuel Up
Pairing a bit of protein with your coffee can be a game-changer. I usually opt for nuts or an egg, which keeps me satisfied until lunch and maintains my energy levels. Your brain requires fuel beyond just caffeine or sugary snacks—it thrives on protein. If you crave something sweet, go for fruit instead.
Section 1.4: Plan Your Day
Once the music stops, it’s time for my Artful Agenda, emails, and to-do lists.
I keep this process brief. By this point, I've spent about 30 minutes on my routine and am fully READY to tackle my workday. I’ve energized both my body and mind, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.
Chapter 2: Essential Components for Success
To achieve significant financial success, there are four key activities you should incorporate into your morning routine:
- Personal care and hygiene.
- Nourishment for both body and mind.
- Building confidence.
- Daily planning.
This routine has worked wonders for me over the past two years.
