Chapter 1: The Early Years

Grant Amato was born on May 20, 1989, in Orlando, Florida, to Chad Robert and Margaret Anne Amato. He grew up in Chuluota alongside his older brother, Cody, who was two years his senior. Margaret also had another son, Jason, from a previous relationship, but he lived apart from the family.

Despite the age difference, Grant and Cody were nearly inseparable, even attending nursing school at the University of Central Florida together. Everything appeared stable until June 2018, when several of Grant's coworkers discovered eight empty vials of Propion in the room of two patients he was overseeing. This incident led to Grant's suspension and eventual termination from AdventHealth, plunging him into a deep depression.

As his mental health deteriorated, Grant lost weight and began a cycle of sleeping excessively during the day and playing video games through the night. Concerned for his brother, Cody offered to help him financially to kickstart a Twitch streaming career. Unbeknownst to Cody, Grant was not building a significant following on Twitch; rather, he was consumed by a dangerous obsession with online pornography, particularly fixated on a Bulgarian camgirl named Silvie.
